A little while back I raved on about one of my favourite micro-labels, Tian An Men 89 Records. The label's been a bit quiet this year, but there are still loads of absolutely unique recordings available to the more discerning and adventurous punk. Fancy an album of Uzbek Paxta-core? You know where to go.

This compilation features 9 bands from the city of Bandung in West Java, Indonesia, regarded as the birthplace of the Indonesian scene. They're pretty decent demo-quality recordings ranging across the punk / hardcore spectrum. It's a good insight into the early days of punk in a country with a vibrant underground. For both a bit more history and to find out what's happening now, try Googling 'indonesian punk' and checking out what pops up.

OP's opinion: Three half
