Oh how joyous it was to hear news last week that the old bag was taken ill. Sadly, she seems to have recovered, but it can't be too long now surely? Apparently, she also has problems with her memory these days. Well, rest assured, I will NEVER forget what this hag did to me and my class. Unfortunately amnesia isn't terminal, but I hope that she hurries up and dies in a suitably painful and lingering (but not too long) fashion.
In anticipation of that glorious day to come, here's an episode of Radio 4's 'In Living Memory' about a glorious day that's already been - The Poll Tax riot in London on March 31st 1990. It includes interviews with people from both sides who were in the thick of it, as well as some of the politics underlying the whole struggle. Ian Bone (founder of street-fighting anarchist group Class War) recounts his memories of the battle, and a few old punks I know also get to say a word or ten about their take on events.

Wish I'd been old enough to take part in the Poll Tax riots. Wasn't even 2 then but it still doesn't stop me from fucking hating Thatcher. Working class pride isn't as rare as people think in my generation, we all have it, it just takes something to bring it out and it's not the fucking BNP. Fuck Thatcher and fuck the Fash!

The word hate does not even begin to express what I feel about that evil old bag. She just turns my stomach, every time her ugly mug and grating voice came on the telly I had to swear and change channels.

I'm not surprised to still see the hatred for Thatcher... I can't think of anyone more deserving. As you may know she will be honoured with a state funeral... at the expense of the humble taxpayer. I don't know how you feel about having to foot the bill for her funeral but Im not happy about it. Was totally against the reunification of Germany although the rest of Europe had no problem with it.

I suppose, since only the good die young, the old bitch could become a centenarian and get a letter from the Queen. Still, the day will come when her evil heart stops beating, and there will be much rejoicing. I plan on getting legless as soon as I find out the tart has kicked the bucket. Let's hope it's not too painless. I just hope those of us who can get to the state funeral make it a disaster to remember. Hopefully, the hearse will be close enough to spit on as it drives by.
