The 1 in 12 Club started in 1981, evolving from the local Claimants Union. Originally the Club organised social events in various local pubs and clubs. We now have our own building that is member-owned and home to a number of collectives (including a caff and a record label among others). We also host regular gigs and meetings.
Established in 1991, the Infoshop contains a bookshop (also music, t-shirts etc.), a radical archive with over 60,000 items, a zine library and cinema. You'll find information relating to just about every aspect of radical activity available, both in the shop and on the website. It's open wednesdays 15.00-19.00, Thursdays 14.00-20.00, Fridays 15.00-19.00 and Saturdays 14.00-18.00.
Alongside them you'll find the Fareshares Food Co-op selling cheap food (including in bulk). It's open Thursdays 14.00-20.00, Ftidays 15.00-19.00 and Saturdays 15.00-17.00
There's also The Bike Workshop where you can mend your bike for free (and learn if you don't know how) and buy basic bike parts at bargain prices. It's open the same times as the Infoshop.
